Election Calendar

With the Covid 19 changing everything in the election cycle on a day be day basis, the election Calendar has been removed. It has been replaced with news from our Chairman, Toby Dryer, as it becomes available.

Date: April 26, 2020

In light of what’s going on with Covid-19 and to ensure voters can vote without fear for their health, the Secretary of State has temporarily taken steps to ensure all voters have the opportunity to cast a ballot in the upcoming June 9th General Primary,

Nonpartisan and Special Elections (to include for most voters the Presidential Primary race from the March 24th Presidential Primary Election). Based on the CDC predictions of how long it will take to recover from Covid-19, the Secretary of State is expecting a majority of voters to cast ballots by mail for this election.

Here are the Steps implemented by Secretary Raffensperger

  1. The Secretary of State will be mailing an Absentee By Mail Application to all Active Registered Voters in the State of Georgia. Currently, there are 61,811 Active Voters in Rockdale County. Mail Ballots are due to be mailed beginning March 31, 2020 through May 15, 2020. At this time, we have approximately 367 ballots to be mailed to those voters who have already made Absentee By Mail Ballot Requests.
  2. Once the voter completes the Absentee By Mail Application, they will mail the application to:
Rockdale County Voter Registration and Elections Office
1261 Commercial Dr. SW, Suite B
    Conyers, GA 30094
    770-278-7333
  3. The County Voter Registration & Elections Office will be responsible for entering the Absentee Ballot Request in the Voter Registration System.
  4. Based on the information entered into the Voter Registration System by the County, the Secretary of State Office will mail the May 19thballot to the voter.
  5. Upon voting the mail ballot, the voter will return their voted ballot to:
Rockdale County Voter Registration and Elections Office
1261 Commercial Dr. SW, Suite B
    Conyers, GA 30094
    770-278-7333
  6. Over the next month, the Secretary of State’s Office will be releasing advertisements encouraging voters to vote by mail (commercials, social media, news releases, etc).
  7. At this time, the Rockdale Board of Elections plans to begin in-person early voting on May 18th;  however, voters will be asked to maintain a safe distance when waiting to vote. The Poll workers will have supplies on hand to regularly disinfect voting equipment. You will be notified, if there are any changes related to in-person voting.
