Georgia 20 Coalition Candidate Forum

Mark your calendars; the Georgia Hwy 20 Coalition will be hosting a candidate forum for the benefit of
Rockdale County residents. This will be your first chance to view the candidates that may represent
Rockdale County after the November election.

Moderator: Jean Hambrick, League of Women Voters
News Panelist: Jay Jones, Rockdale Citizen
News Panelist: Tonya Parker, Rockdale News
The forum shall follow the below agenda:

• 7:00 PM – 7:10 PM Introduction, Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance

• 7:10 PM – 7:34 PM State House District 94 candidates: Mr. Steve Conner (R), Ms. Dar’shun Kendrick (D), Ms. Rhonda Peek (D)

• 7:34 PM – 7:50 PM State House District 95 candidates: Mr. Rodney Upton (R), Rep. Toney Collins (D)   Ms. Pam Dickerson’s representative will be announced

• 7:50 PM – 8:06 PM Rockdale Board of Commissioner Post II candidates:  Com. JaNice VanNess (R),  Mr. Courtney Dillard (D)

• 8:06 PM – 8:16 PM 10 Minute Break

• 8:16 PM – 8:40 PM State Senate District 17 candidates:  Mr. Todd Hilton (R),  Mr. Rick Jeffares  (R),    Mr. Jim Nichols (D)

• 8:40 PM – 8:56 PM State Senate District 43 candidates:   Ms. Diana Williams (R)

• 8:56 PM – 9:12 PM 4th US Congressional candidates:   Ms. Liz Carter (R)  Rep. Hank Johnson’s representative will be announced

Candidates, please be at the event 15 minutes prior to your allotted time above. The format for each race will be as follows: 1 minute introduction, 1 question from each news panelist: 2 minute response from each candidate, 1 question from the audience read by the moderator: 2 minute response from each candidate, 1 minute closing statement by each candidate.

There are two races where a candidate’s opponent chose not to attend or are unable to attend, State
Senate District 43 and 4th US Congressional District. The sole candidates in these races will be given 2
minutes for introduction, 2 questions from each news panelist: 2 minute response from each candidate,
2 questions from the audience read by the moderator, 2 minute closing statement.
